WHAT IS THE PROJECT?
The slate landscape and its story have inspired many artists over the years, and it continues to be an important artistic subject for contemporary artists. We are very proud to have been part of co-creating a number of artistic interventions in the landscape through the work of Llechi Cymru, in order to reinforce the rich story of our slate communities and to help local residents celebrate and take pride in their rich heritage.
To share and celebrate the wonderful art installations found throughout the slate landscape, we are developing a virtual slate art trail. The aim of the virtual trail is to provide interpretive information about the artworks, offering more insight into the artists, their inspiration, and the story behind each piece, while also encouraging you to follow the trail and discover more fantastic local artworks.
