Inigo Jones Slate Works was founded in 1861 to produce school writing slates. Today the company uses the same raw material namely natural Welsh slate to produce architectural memorial landscape and craft products.
These include such products as hearths, copings, cremation plaques, sundials, bird baths, clocks and placemats. Bespoke plaques and nameplates are engraved to order and are supplied all over the United Kingdom and abroad.
The company is now also a tourist attraction and offers a self-guided tour of the workshops which also includes geological historical calligraphy and letter cutting exhibitions. The tour gives an excellent insight into the Welsh slate industry. The company also has a showroom which sells its own quality landscape and craft products as well as other Welsh craft products.
